Hanging out in Key West

Well, just a small informative post to keep people posted...

We're currently in Key West, looking for a boat to cross over to the Caribbean Islands.
Days are spent going through all the marinas talking with people, asking info about who is going where and when blablabla, and hearing all kinds of stuff about what we should or should not do or stories that have or have not happened to other people. All very entertaining... Some people are very negative, and say we'll never find a boat because it's not the season to go or whatever, but the majority are more like "hey that's crazy, go for it, great!", which is nice(r).
Anyway, people are starting to recognize us as we walk along the docks, which is fun and nice as well...
In any case, we're sure we WILL get there eventually, and that's what counts! :0)

Nights are spent in a boat off the Safe Harbour marina on Stock Island. Glenn, who incidentally is redoing the Mistress, a most beautiful 1930s boat that once belonged to a member of the Roosevelt family, is letting us sleep on a Trumpy, another beautiful fairly ancient boat of his which he is also redoing. Photos will be added when we have them. The ones underneath are of the very famous Key West cemetery, where as you can see, even dead people have a sense of humour and tolerate he presence of chickens around.
Actually we also saw a massive iguana hanging out there, but it ran so fast we couldn't fix him in a pic.

It's REALLY hot 90f or 33C today, which I (Emma) am finding pretty hard to bear, unfortunately for Louis, but I'll get used to it. We both swam in the sea on Xmas eve and New Year's day... Nice!

Otherwise, well... I'm starting to try and refresh my spanish by reading all kinds of different stuff, and Louis started learning the hardcore way, a.i he has just started to read a biography of Fidel Castro in Spanish dans le texte. We'll see how that goes down!

Hope you all had a really nice Xmas and equally nice beginning of 2007!!!
