Le calme apres la tempete...

So my dear friends, as you will have worked out, we are stuck here in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks by the massive storm that has hit the Carolina coast the past few days...
When we arrived from Virginia Beach on monday, we heard the weather would be getting pretty bad.
However, we just decided to go and sit in a restaurant after cycling our 120 km for the day (about 75 miles?) in what is incidentally a really really good local restaurant, the Salt water Grill off Beach Road.
If you get a chance, go there: good company and real nice home-made food! Yuuuum!
There we met Darrell, who luckily took us in, and with whom we've been staying the last couple of days whilst the storm was thundering around us and the sea battering the shore.
The photos give you a picture of what the storm has left behind...

The road still flooded
Louis giving us his impression of Jesus walking on the water...

Some houses got torn down about 4 miles up the road
